Holbrook Racing Engines 10.5 Outlaw

You know the old saying, "things just keep getting better and better," well this certainly applied to the second Team Z Motorsports Head's-Up Friday. From the start when we opened the gates at 3pm the sun beat down on the track, the air was crisp and cars continually came through the gates. In the Holbrook Racing Engines 10.5 Outlaw class there was only 1 more car that ran during qualifying compared to last race. The change came with everyone's speed picking up with each pass. Last race the low e.t. was a 7.596 and this month we saw a low e.t. of 7.5660! The qualifying rounds started at 4:30pm and continued through the evening. Dan Milen was holding the low e.t. of the day just like last race, but then a new racer Manny Buginga came all the way from Massachusetts and jumped into third round of qualifying and ran an impressive 7.5660 at 189.04 to gain the number one spot. After that the competition was even greater! During first round of eliminations, Dan Millen and the crew were unable to get all the bugs worked out and went out first round to Tom Stevens. Second round came and the race was down to 6 racers. Then came the semis in round three. It was down to Jason Barwick and his Chevy S-10 going against Manny Buginga and his mustang leaving Mike Floeter for the bye run. Jason left first with a +.1048 reaction against Manny's +.3970, but Manny was able to pass Jason at the 1/8th mile and advanced to the finals against Mike Floeter. Fourth round finals came and the Mustang lined up against the Camaro. Both drivers had close to the same reaction. Close to the 330' Manny passed Mike and flew through the finish at 7.6009 at 190.91 to take the win in the second Holbrook Racing Engines 10.5 Outlaw class!

WHEEL TO WHEEL ALL MOTOR CLASS

The Wheel to Wheel All Motor Class saw a 3 car gain from the last head's-up Friday. Last race there was only 5 cars the showed up and qualified. This month we had 8 qualifiers thanks to a double entry of Buck Parenteau running two spots. At the end of qualifying Butch Kemp once again took the number one qualifier spot running a tenth of a second faster than the last race. First round came and a couple of the cars had a little trouble and was not able to make it to first round. Buck and his two entries was out and so was Butch Kemp. Second round came the semi-finals with George Bluga going against Mark Herek leaving Bill Adamski for the bye run. George and his Camaro lined up against Mark and the 86' Monte Carlo. Tree came down and Mark had the better reaction of +.0800 against Mark's +.1070 reaction. Things were even at the 1/8th then George pulled ahead before the finish and advanced into the finals against Bill Adamski. After cooling down, round three came and it was against Bill Adamski and the 69' Camaro against George Bluga's 84' Camaro. Stands were packed and all eyes glued on the two vehicles on the starting line. Cars staged then tree came down and the race was on. Bill left with a +.0589 reaction with George right behind with a +.1468 reaction. This was another race that was close all the way down but in the end George Bluga took the win and became the victor of the second Wheel to Wheel All Motor Class.
Next month will be even more exciting with the start of the "Run Whatcha Brung" class. See you in June!
